We all worth well easily, on a tablet or a smartphone, enter text beyond two lines without getting upset is a feat. And yet, the designers of different keyboards out of their way to make our job easier: integrated that can enrich oneself, corrections on two words, terms that complement his own dictionaries - is the famous auto-completion. Unfortunately, it can play nasty tricks on you with not always wise choice, that force you to go back and correct what the software has done for you ... or let your text with its faults, the last straw when think ingenuity implemented to help you write.
Avoid-Typing-Mistakes-in-Your-Tablets-Smartphones

But with a little practice, cunning and advice, you can make best use of the power of these wizards to. If the iOS keyboard is still the same, those of Android may change as publishers or manufacturers, our examples are based on the default keyboard of the Samsung Nexus S.

Step 1: iOS, use the word suggestions label
When you type text on your iPad or iPhone, the device uses the system language to suggest the words he predicts and displays as small labels above the currently typed word. Should you? Do not finish and touch the space bar the word that comes complete alone.

Step 2: iOS, change the suggested word buttons
If pressing the space bar generated a word you do not want, press once on the backspace key. If other combinations are known by the system, they will be offered in small black text above the buttons: touch the proposal that suits you.
Step 3: iOS, reject the suggested word cross
If the suggested word by iOS does not suit you, you can ignore it and continue typing as if nothing had happened. But if you need to press the spacebar after all, without accepting the proposal, first make it disappear by pressing its label or its small cross.

Step 4: iOS, save words with Contacts new
The iOS correction does not have a mechanism to "learn" new words easily and fill with them.
But she can do it by using the Contacts entries. Start Contacts, click the + to create a new record and enter in name, company name or new words and press OK.

Step 5: iOS, using keyboard shortcuts SETTINGS
Otherwise, a bit laborious, but functional (it only works for words that you explicitly state) to force the correction with your own words: shortcuts. In the settings of the iPad, General Module scroll settings column down and select the input keyboard.

Step 6: iOS, define a new shortcut
Press down on Add a shortcut. In the Expression line, enter the word (or word sequence) complete. In Shortcut, enter the letters thereof, easy to remember, but not too common either. Confirm with Save. Entering the shortcut will now appear the proposal of the complete word.

Step 7: Apps, choose the right word to add
With the default Android keyboard, the suggestions are shown in blue above the keyboard - Android also takes into account the contents of the address book. This is the central one, in bold, which will be used automatically when you press the Space key; but you can press one of the proposals shown on the left and right, if it suits you better.
If you enter a word that was unknown to the built-in dictionary and you want to add, tap once your word is finished, the "Proposal" in blue, and then a second time on its title to save it in the dictionary .

Step 8: Android, manage your custom dictionary
If you accidentally added a word and want to eliminate it from the dictionary, go to System Settings, Language & input, and press Custom Dictionaries English. Scroll through the text below and click on the red X to delete those that suit you most.
Step 9: Android, add words to the dictionary added
To add more words to the dictionary in advance, still in English, press down the + button. Enter your password, observing that the letter if necessary (be careful, it does not work with compound words), and click OK. Repeat for the other words.

Access the Internet without Internet in iPad

3G is not essential to use the tablet for any occasion. It is even possible to read web pages without visiting the Web!

Only 3G shelves help to overcome Wi-Fi to access the Internet. What if your device does not have 3G? You can, of course, you simply use the documents stored in the device memory, but the storage capacity does not splurge! Some films and TV episodes, a little music, books, and these are the 16 or 32 GB occupied. Besides without 3G or Wi-Fi, the files stored online on Google Drive, Dropbox or iCloud are no longer accessible. Unless you have taken the precaution of downloading them first tablet certain documents and multimedia content. Replacing Bad/Slow HD Without Reinstalling

The hard drive of your PC or saturated it is too slow? Replace it with a newer model without reinstalling Windows or your software: your computer will find a second wind!

As files multimedia (music, photos and videos) that sometimes crammed by the thousands in the bowels of the PC, the current software requires more disk space, some recent games even surpassing the 10 GB ! But a hard drive over-saturated best system slowdowns at worst incessant blockages Windows. To avoid this, a good solution is to change the hard drive, especially if your computer is older. This operation, which takes a little time, is available both on a desktop and on a laptop.
Replacing-Bad-Slow-HD-Without-Reinstalling

The price of gigabyte is very low ... so aim high!

Want to change your hard drive? So do not skimp on performance! Feel free to take a 500GB model for a desktop PC (model 3.5-inch) or a 100GB for a laptop (a 2.5-inch model) Gigabyte has never been so cheap. Thus, the 3.5-inch Desktop we chose Samsung Spin-point T166 is a 500 GB. Costs 100 euros, or 0.2 euro per gigabyte! Same thing for models for laptops.

We chose Hitachi Travel-star 7K100 for which, with its 100 GB, 90 GB displays cents. In addition, it turns 7200 rpm (like a 3.5-inch desktop hard drive) while the disks of new laptops usually operate at 5400 r / min, and even at 4200 rev / min on the machines of more than two years. In practice, the difference is noticeable. Measured with HD Tach to measure the performance of storage devices), the playback speed from 20 MB / s with our old drive (4200 rev / min, 2MB cache) to 45 MB / s with the new (7200 rev / min, 8MB cache) ... More than double!

A more efficient hard drive with the contents of the old

Changing the drive is good, but still need to transfer data from one to another and avoid the tedious reinstalling Windows and software. For this you need to copy the entire old drive to the new through cloning software such as Symantec Norton Ghost or Acronis True Image, which requires installing the new drive in an external enclosure (10 to 15 euros for a box with USB interface). Data transfer itself will take a few hours (the duration depends on the capacity and speed of the old hard drive).

When Windows software and the data has been copied to the new drive, you remove it from the external case to put it in place of the old hard drive (and eventually, you will put the old hard drive in the external enclosure, for make an extra disc). When you restart your PC, you will find all your software and all your data, and you'll be faster! If it is useless to be a specialist to carry out these operations, however, it is better to have good technical knowledge, including equipment. Beginners beware!

What you need

A PC running Windows 98, 2000, XP or Vista; a 2.5-inch to 3.5-inch laptop or a desktop PC hard drive; an external USB enclosure.

Time: at least 3 h

With a laptop

Unlike desktops, laptops offer only slot drive. To connect the two, and make a copy from one to the other, so you have to go through an external box. But before you buy a new hard drive 2.5-inch, and appropriate housing, you need to know if you need an IDE or SATA model, depending on the interface that your notebook has.
replacing-hard-disk-of-laptop

You can find this information in the documentation for your notebook or typing references in Google. If you opt for a hard disk, for example, you choose a USB external hard drive enclosure 2.5-inch IDE.

1. Install the new drive in an enclosure

Remove all screws from the outer casing. Open it and install the new hard drive by connecting it to Sata or IDE interface: keyed helps you find the right direction. Replace the cover and screw it.

2. Connect the unit to the laptop

Plug your laptop on AC power, and turn it on. Wait until the Windows desktop appears and connect the external enclosure into a USB port: The system detects and installs the new device.

3. Install True Image

To copy the exact contents of your old hard drive to the new, you need a specialized program. We recommend Acronis True Image 10, it has the advantage of being easy to use and fast.

On the page that appears, click again on the file name to download the 100 MB program. Once repatriated software, run it to install it and follow all the steps in the wizard.

4. Copy the contents of the old drive to the new

Launch True Image. Click the Drives category on the right. Then click Clone disk to start the corresponding wizard.

Click Next, and as Clone Mode, select Manual. This will copy all the partitions from the old disk to the new, to adjust their sizes, etc. Confirm by clicking Next. Select the source hard disk. It is easy to recognize: it has an IDE or SATA interface and has, more often, scores.

Click Next. Select the target disk, the only one connected via USB, and click Next.

In the window that appears, you asked what use you want to make your old hard drive after cloning. By default, the option Keep data is enabled. We advise you to keep this selection unless you want to get rid of your old hard drive, in which case select Destroy data. Click Next. The software then asks how the data will be transferred.

This choice is important! If you select the option in the state, the data will be moved from the old drive to the new one without changing the partition size. If the new disk has a higher capacity than the old one, the extra space will not be allocated and you will need to create a new partition. In this case, we advise you rather choose the Proportional option: the partitions will be scaled to fit the size of the new disk. With Manual, meanwhile, allows you to manually change the size of partitions on the target disk. It is for advanced users. Click Next.

The wizard then displays the structure of hard disks graphically, the source drive before cloning and the target disk after cloning.

Click Next. True Image displays a summary of operations to perform. Click Proceed to start cloning.

The software prompts you to restart the laptop. Cloning can take several hours, the length of the operation varies depending on the amount of data to be copied and the speed of your old hard drive.

5. Remove the old hard drive ...

Once copied, turn off your laptop and unplug all cables. Also remove the battery to avoid possible electrical problems. Turn the computer to see below, and locate the access hole in the hard drive, often marked with a logo in the shape of a cylinder. If you do not see is that she is on the side. Remove the screws to open the door and access the hard drive.

Then locate the pins that connect the drive to the laptop. On some models, a ribbon makes it easy to remove the hard drive from the door: pull gently. Otherwise, gently lift the hard drive up and out of the cell by pulling horizontally in the opposite direction to the pins.

The hard drive is encased in a drawer: pull it gently from its housing by removing the screws holding it inside.

6 ... and install the new

Remove all screws from the external USB enclosure. Open it and remove the new hard drive.

Put the old drive in place: you can use it as external backup drive. Replace the cover and screw it. Put the new drive in the drawer in the hard drive of the laptop. And insert the screw into the trap that requires the hard drive.

Screw the hatch. Replace the battery. Reconnect the PC to the mains and start it to check that everything works.

With a desktop computer

Replacing a hard drive desktop PC requires opening the machine, but for data transfer, you can use a USB external enclosure in which to place the new drive. This prevents ask you questions about the internal connections (select master / slave IDE Sata connections, setting the BIOS, etc.). As for laptops, you must first know all the interface used by the drive to change, IDE or Sata. To find out, no need to open your computer.
replacing-desktop-hard-disk

Download free software as HD Tach and in the Info tab of the program, see if the interface is like Ata (IDE) or SATA. It may be that your drive is connected to IDE while your computer also has Sata connectors. To get to the c? "Ur net, you have to open your machine and identify Sata connectors.

Choose a USB external enclosure for 3.5-inch IDE or SATA drive.

1. Install the new drive in an external enclosure

Remove all screws from the outer casing. Open it and install the new hard drive by connecting it to the interface (SATA or IDE) keyed help you find the right direction. Replace the cover and screw it.

2. Connect to a PC

Turn on your PC. After Windows starts, once the Bureau has appeared, connect the external housing sector and connect it to a USB port. Wait until Windows recognizes and installs as a new USB device.

3. Install Acronis True Image

See step 3 of the procedure for a laptop.

4. Copy the contents of the old drive to the new

See step 4 of the procedure for a laptop.

5. Remove the new hard drive external enclosure

Unplug the box (USB cable and power cable), remove the screws, open the case and remove the new hard drive.

6. Install disc into the PC

Turn off the PC and unplug the power supply plug (on current computers, even when switched off a current still flows). Open the PC case and unplug the power cable (Molex) hard drive and the data cable (IDE or Sata tablecloth) connected to it. Unscrew the old hard drive and remove it. Replace it with the new one, ensuring, if you have two IDE hard disks, configure the new as the old one (master or slave): Place the jumper on the back of the hard drive, according to indications on the top of the disc.

Screw it into the frame. Reconnect the power cable and data cable. Close the case. Reconnect the PC and start Windows to check that all is well.
